I think it's that Capello no longer sees DP as a 90 minute player which is imo a mistake.

That's a very valid point. We don't see what Fabio sees at training everyday but we do see the same thing he sees during the matches.

I don't think so because as isha said, DP was very much active right before being replaced. As a matter of fact, moments prior to his substitution he was tracking back helping the midfield IIRC. I'm sure that he's not happy with being replaced time and time again, but being the person he is...

Alex was playing well and didn't seem tired to me, not visibly anyways so I think it must be something we don't know about. Maybe Capello reckoned that DP had done his job and deserved a breather but I still think he should have given him a minimum of 75 minutes giving his performance and lack...

IMO Camoranesi was the MOTM. Olivera wasn't that good but just having an attack-minded central midfielder ensured that we were better going forward. Ibrahimovic was very good as well. Actually, come to think of it, everyone was good. Zebina and Zambrotta (in particular) got forward to good...

I don't think playing Olivera weakened us too much. Both of their goals were scored because of mental lapses imo as we were too relaxed when leading 2-0 and 3-1. Zebina, Thuram, Cannavaro and Zambrotta all had good games and I was glad to see us finally playing well in attack.

Brilliant pieces of skill shown by DP. In particular the second one was amazing and it left me sitting in my seat thinking 'I thought he only did things like that 7 years ago' :thumb:

I'm excited too. I've been saying over and over again that one of the defensive midfielders should be replaced by a more creative player, in this case Olivera. I hope it works.

Capello has finally taken heed and is starting 3 attack-minded midfielders! I'm looking forward to this one!
