Well, well, well... I for one can't say that I expected this result. Were Poland really good or did Italy just play badly? I'm guessing that it's a bit of both, but at least Cassano had a successful senior debut, while Marchionni and Bazzani earned their first caps :)

No, Miccoli will start from the bench with Marco Marchionni claiming his senior NT debut :) I've only seen Marchionni twice, but he impressed me both times so I'm hoping that he'll do well for the Azzurri tonight.

Can somebody verify this: does Del Piero have 23 NT goals or 24? Alot of people think that he has scored 24 times but Gazzetta.it say 23.

Because Trapattoni has better players at his disposal. Del Piero, Totti, Miccoli, Di Vaio, Vieri, Inzaghi, Cassano... the list goes on.

Yeah, they deserve chances and it's in these meaningless friendlies that you give young upcoming prospects their chance with the NT.
