I suppose the eight year period is being used because winning a trophee like a World or even European Cup is not something that comes every year. Perhaps two lists would be the best way. The 8 year one that we have now and another one, based on recent performances.

So being the best is all about luck then?

They won after getting 1 goal behind and playing AWFUL football...

I guess I'm still not impressed enough by them after they missed the WC.... Better than Holland? Brazil, Turkey, Spain and perhaps England...

Holland at three? Why on earth? Oded - Are you talking about friendlies France and Argentina have played recently? Because France for example absolutely SUCKED against Cyprus for the EC qualification!

Even if you have the best players on earth in your team - you never actually ARE the best until you perform well and win trophees. How can the best teams of the world be knocked out of a WC in the first round? It's impossible unless they play bad and if that's the case, they're not the best...

Eh? How do you figure that?

I tend to focus more on recent results when I judge teams, hence my list would be VERY different :)

This top ten is rubbish anyway. What is France still doing in second place? And why is Argentina there? FIFA has always had these things wrong! ;)
