We're definitely terminating, unless we think we run a legal risk.

I haven't been able to study the regulations so I don't know if the verdict is right or wrong. From a moral point of view it sounds harsh though. A four year ban while all parties involved acknowledge it's highly debatable he gained an actual advantage by taking the drug is a lot. 1709222484...

So uhm, where are we at now? Are they still negotiating the length of his ban?

Probably not. It seems to be an isolated doping incident and at the time those wages were paid, he wasn't doping. Of course there are all sorts of terms and conditions possible (if allowed by Italian law). For example you could have a penalty for bringing the club into direspute. It would seem...

It is exhausting to see these people earn millions and put in no work at all. I can understand dips in form. Players are human beings too and no one is perfect 100% of the time. But Pogba didn't even care enough to do the most basic of things right. Some of these guys have no idea of how...

We'd have to know the terms and conditions of his contract, but I'd assume no fee yes.

To be fair, why would he even think all that much about professional football these days? He has won pretty much everything there is to win. Maybe he hasn't won a Champions League, but he's a World Champion. He's not really going to care. And he knows that, even if he works out like crazy, it's...

Agreed, Pogba is done. But if he can limit the suspension to one year, there is bound to be a team to pick him up. Maybe he could earn an extra million or something.

I am very confident we will be able to terminate his contract. I believe there is also a clause that - pending investigations - he will receive a minimum salary. I think around 40k a year or something.

It's probably going to end with a 1 year suspension. I wonder if there will be a team to pick him up.

Well, he pretty much admit to taking a supplement which would cause an elevation of testosterone levels.

I doubt it. There are so many professional football players and so many doping tests. If everyone was doing it, we'd never hear the end of positive tests.

To be fair he might have done better if the club had not been in turmoil and there would actually have been some sort of plan on how to implement him. Even in hindsight I don't mind the risk. Pogba was one of the best in the world at his peak. He's still only 30. It was a gamble we should have...

Surely Jesus Navas comes to mind. There are plenty others though. 1694588055 Pogba is that much of a clown these days that people hardly care what club he is associated with. I don't even think this thing is going to reflect poorly on us to be honest. People will just think he did another...

I find it very hard to believe that a drug that raises testosterone levels would be allowed in American sports. Verstuurd vanaf mijn ONEPLUS A6003 met Tapatalk

There was always going to be something. Man, my favorite players since 2015 were Hazard, Pogba and Dybala. I keep getting hurt. Verstuurd vanaf mijn ONEPLUS A6003 met Tapatalk

So crazy to think this guy's career is over. I watched him from the stands during Fiorentina-Juventus in 2016. Probably one of the best midfield performances I ever saw. Verstuurd vanaf mijn ONEPLUS A6003 met Tapatalk

Maybe there are ways around it, but I'm pretty sure they'd require a level of discipline we won't find in Paul Pogba.

Of course athletes can take medication under certain circumstances, but the medication would have to be prescribed by a doctor and the anti-doping agencies need to be informed of that medication. You can get an exemption for corticosteroids though so maybe it's not impossible.
