Crucial player for us, tremendous signing. Great game.

It was a loan-option, but Rummenigge confirmed a few months back that we will certainly exercise said option, iirc (unofficially, may have been closer to a gentleman's loan-obligation). Don't think Juventus ever made an official statement, but for all intents and purposes, he's ours now...

    Douglas Costa

Agreed. I was definitely pretty happy when we made the move initially, thought it was a great risk-reward scenario; his quality on the ball has always been pretty obvious, as is his ability to accelerate/change speeds, IMO. But what Mike was saying is very true, the decision making and work...

    Douglas Costa

Adds such an important dimension to the team. Poise on the ball, that close control and pace... gotta have it. This was a very good purchase.

No way that Costa is more effective on the left than he is on the right. Definitely not.

Hopefully Pjaca is feeling good. Such a shame he got hurt before we shifted formations last season. I'm not a huge fan of the 4-2-3-1... although management spent a fair bit of money with that in mind. Longer term, I'd like to see a quality midfield reinforcement in the summer, and a 3...

    Douglas Costa

He's much more dangerous around the box on the right, imo. So quick, great at feinting as though he's driving right, stops on a dime, and either whips in those great in-swinging crosses, a short incisive pass, or rips a shot. It seems to open the field up for him. The guy loves to cut into...

    Without question!

And definitely should be on the right. When he's got the ball the guy loves to cut into the middle, but he's pretty left foot dominant. When he does it from the left wing, it really limits the offensive passing lanes available to him; too much backwards passing. I think he can be quite an...

That's what I was thinking, too. Think this was his most complete game. He worked so hard to follow Max's directions today; it was great to see. Such a huge tackle, gotta love those. Clean and hard. He was all over the place, today. Very strong performance.

It was Spal, but probably his best game to date. Glad to see him get 90, need that chemistry to keep improving.

    Douglas Costa

We haven't bought anybody yet. I still haven't seen anything indicating this deal was an obligation. Kingsley wasn't an obligation, and both had a solid first year loan fee. I think there's a legitimate decision to be made on this player still, but I guess we'll see.
  14. Rollie

    Douglas Costa

Juan's in a pretty rough period of form, atm, too. Wouldn't surprise me to see Costa start the next match. Was quite deliberate today, which was great. Think he's going to be a really big addition. It'll be interesting to see what Allegri can cook up in terms of formation. A lot will...

    Douglas Costa

That may be true, but adding speed to our attacking group was such a smart thing to do. He's going to open up a lot of space for other players up top. Really think Costa is underrated around these parts.

    Douglas Costa

What? You mean this guy didn't look amazing playing with a group he's never played with before, in an exhibition match that didn't matter, in a lineup that wasn't set, where nobody is currently match fit? SELL!

    Douglas Costa

 Expensive, but the market is just retadded right now. I like this guy, thought he was absolute fire two years ago for Bayern. Fills a big need, versatile, looking forward to him tearing up the flanks. :howler: Pay that marketing department!
