Don't know how much coverage this got, but the Bundesliga got a whopping big new TV deal in the last week: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/feedarticle/10198977

Sensible. Bayern are eight points behind just now. If they draw the game today they'll be seven behind with six points available. ---------- Post added 21.04.2012 at 15:56 ---------- Quite mixed for who uses it the head-to-head thing and who doesn't. Certainly not used in...

Even a draw in that game gives Dortmund the title, doesn't it?

Anyone know the significance of the bananas being thrown at Neuer? I get that stuff was thrown because of his Schalke background, but why bananas?

Probably just about a deseved win for BvB. They started brilliantly and Bayern could cope with their runs from deep. They should have been at least 2-0 up at half time. Bayern then came into it when they took Muller off for Schweinsteiger, which allowed them more control over the midfield and...

Bayern's attack really does look unstoppable when they get Gomez Ribery-Muller-Robben Kroos-Schweinsteiger on the pitch. They scored one, had another wrongly disallowed and should have scored about four more in the 35 minutes they had that lineup on.

That's a different debate, then. I was viewing things within the current disciplinary situation, rather than looking at what the situation ought to be. I'd have no objection to longer bans being handed out for genuinely malicious challenges.

That's different because that goes beyond reckless or cowardly and is just an attempt to cause serious injury to the opponent.

As cowardly and unpleasant as that challenge was, it wasn't one that really had the potential to do serious injury to the opponent. Tackles like this bother me far more:

Got an eight week ban. Nasty tackle but eight weeks seems a bit over the top.

Bayern, Mönchengladbach, Schalke – does any one want to win the league? The Germany manager Joachim Löw had a number of interesting games to chose from this weekend. But he decided to attend SC Freiburg's 2-1 win over Schalke on Saturday. The 52-year-old prefers to watch games in his adopted...

Bah. I wouldn't have predicted as many goals if I'd know Reus was going to miss the game.

:agree: I'd be interested to know the fitness program BVB put him on, because he's bulked up a lot in the last year. He's bullying defenders now that were brushing him aside before.

:agree: And Kehl played a nice disciplined game to keep the shape of the team when Bender was doing all that running.

Tremendously disciplined performance from BVB. Bender was probably the best player on the park.
