I agree with that, as a general rule, but Newcastle have spent a fair bit of time in the lower leagues over the years. I want the bigger teams to be in the top leagues, but Leeds and Newcastle are an exception.

What tradition does Newcastle have? Except for having fat, ugly, shaven headed, shirtless fans, of course.

Most Spurs fans I've met are alright. There are plenty of EPL teams that have far more annoying fans than Spurs. Aberdeen were mates with Hellas Verona, but that ended earlier this season after an Aberdeen Casual punched a Verona fan in the Verona curva because he had a Rangers hat on. :D

Not sure how it started. The clubs used to get on well (numerous transfers and friendlies in the 70s and 80s) and the fans, primarily the Casual (hooligan, to the uneducated) element carry it on. I think it's partly because Rangers are mates with Chelsea.

I can't stand the club, but I tend to hold back on criticising them because Aberdeen fans are friendly with Spurs fans.

Of course they are stupidly run, but they are traditionally a pretty significant club.
