I doubt his wage demands are quite that high. However, he is not worth that. Secco is right not to break the wage structure.

Bashing Secco without proper consideration of all aspects of a deal is pathetic. Part of why we have done well this season is the spirit of the squad. We need players who really want to be here to continue that.

They have offered more cash than us, so he probably will go to Milan. Even average EPL clubs are loaded these days.

I suspect he'll wind up staying at Arsenal

    Or all of the above...

The English press stills sees us as being ahead of Milan in the race to get him, but Arsenal have also increased their contract offer. I doubt anything is certain yet.

I don't think he likes playing there. He would get fed up pretty quickly.

He was used at LB or most of Arsenal's run to the CL Final.

Because that is what their readers want to hear.

I agree. The closest to an argument against him is that it will take big wages to get him.

Flamini is a far more complete midfielder than our other CMs. A midfield of Camoranesi-Sissoko-Flamini-Nedved would be awesome and would give us the mobility in the centre that we lacked in the past, and which cost us in the CL.

    Not cool, man.

He can, but he ain't great at it. What we need is a player like Zanetti who will hold his position while Sissoko goes racing around after the ball.

There would be a real lack of positional sense in that midfield.

Arsenal are worried that he will spoil their wage structure. I believe there is a big gap between Gallas and Fagregas and the rest, and Flamini feels he should get closer to what the top guys are on.

I'm certainly beginning to think that this deal is likely to happen. It doesn't sound like Arsenal will be willing to up their offer sufficiently.

Wenger is only prepared to let him go because the deal Flamini wants would screw up the wage structure. I'm not convinced there is a replacement ready, except for Gilberto Silva who is past his best.

Like it or not, we are likely to be playing 2 DM next season. I would say that this means we need 5 players who can play there, so we have plenty of cover. Zanetti, Sissoko, Nocerino, Marchisio or Cigarini and one other.

I think Juve are trying to negotiate as discretely as possible, as we are trying not to piss off Arsenal. We will not become officially interested until he rejects the offer from Arsenal. If Secco pulls this off, without annoying Arsenal, he is far cleverer than any of us suspected.
