I would be very reluctant to believe Scottish sources. The are all pro- Old Firm so if someone rejects them, they will make up some excuse why the won't come to Scotland ie a big European club will sign them, usually doesn't happen.

Carrick is better at defending than people give him credit for but his is prmarily in the team for his range of passing. The chelsea and Liverpool midfields, while not packed with defensive players does have player who are good at getting behind the ball, much the same as Milan.

I would rather we got Frings. I don't think we should be spending too much of our cash on one position, it needs to be spread around as we must strengthen many areas of the side.
