Yup they seem to have got the nation back to the NT, after the last decades failings, interest was at an all time low. I for one used to swear that I will never follow them again after each failing, but when any cup comes around the corner, my heart fails me.

Na that wasn't a penalty, the Iraki player had pushed the ball way too hard to ever be able to regain control ;) But again, refer to my previous post, if there is any fault with that logic :P

Oh well congrats to Iraq! I think our fault was our GK, he is horrible with high balls, but Iraq fully deserved to win the final, and despite what lots of members over here fail to fathom, I am not even half gutted had the winner been a non-Arab team. Our whole team was non-existent, defense...

What are the possibilities of those two to make it in Europe, in your opinion? And really Yasser's style is like Pippo? I really don't see that, Yasser has much better dribbling skills, supports in building attacks, sometimes goes to the flanks, supports in defence, and actually a good leader...

And you got your wish my friend!!:toast: 3-2 to Saudi, and Malik running rings around the Japs! What an amazing match from both sides! I guess Jun-Hide fascination with the Yasser-Malik duo is justified, and he go to taste their fury! Forza Saudi Arabia!!

My boys impressed me today, despite being a bit shaky at the back. The mid and forward seemed very in-sync and played wonderful plays and one-twos. Just watch our second goal to get an idea, I must say one of the best goals in the tourny. In addition to countless of perfectly built up missed...

Favorites to who? I didn't really think that they would win the cup, they still might have a chance, but still its not in the way the Aussies coach or the media would have you believe. Asian teams and players are good, but they do poorly in the WC because they lack experience and confidence in...

Why? Iraq as I said earlier, is a good team. Currently and historically. Forza Sons of Al-Rafidain!!

Wow Hawar Mohammed just lobbed a fantastic ball over the Aussie GK, the GK barely got his fingers to the ball! Iraq is playing great!

Stop being such a douche. There is serious discussion in this thread, and lots of members are talking about the championship, we really don't want to scroll through all that nonsense!

Oman is a good team, and in the past 10 years they were by no means minnows in Asia. I remember their exploits in the WC U-17 back in 1995, probably traces from that team still exist.

    The AFC Asian 2007 Cup

Yup your memory serves you right ;) We even clinched an Away win, when we didn't even have to, we already qualified :P From our side, a mouthwatering final would be Saudi-Iran :D With my boys kicking Hoori's boys asses. Speaking of which, where is that girl?

    4. This way it is feasible economically in these poorer countries, and since all 4 aren't really "powers" in Asia, it would boost the sport.

Wow thats a feat, I never tried to manage such a small country. Perhaps your great great great great grandson will see that :P

Iraq was great in Athens, very true, I cheered for them from the top of my lungs. But I also wouldn't be surprised if a certain someone in Capitol Hill actually pulled some strings to give them a nudge ;) Iraq already played in the WC back in 86, they did well (for Asian standards), but...
