It takes many years to heal completely from that kind of injury, not only physically but also mentally. Right now I still don’t think that Chiesa has the confidence to lean on that knee at 100% when playing.

His pace hasn’t declined that much but he just lacks general sharpness. Also I get really nervous every time he goes down or makes a sharp turn. Knee ligament injuries are just so horrid.

These types of injuries take time to recover from. It’s not just the ACL itself, but all the muscles around the leg and knee.

I still get worried every time he is on the pitch, ACL injuries will fuck you up like that. But so far so good.

I have said this before, but this team needs quality wingers as badly almost as it needs a new midfield. Chiesa has shown us just how much a quality wide man can influence the entire dynamic of how a team plays. The way he stretches teams and attacks them constantly. He’s an absolute menace.
