Spinazzola is the one to cry about.

I think he also had that bit of ingenuity to beat a tight press by himself which is really rare for a fullback and completely cuts open the other team. But then again, he might have that ability because he's not a fullback...:howler: I asked last year how Cuadrado is a winger and Cancelo is a...

Hmm that article is a bit overboard. Sarri doesn't rely on fullbacks to attack. He needs fullbacks that are comfortable tucking into a back 3 when the opposite fullback is attacking. The fullbacks are more of a second choice attacking outlet and mainly support the wingers. And also Danilo is...

No, he's really not. He's at least average. And he's better than MDS. But he wanted to leave City and they were fine to have him leave. I think they were even thinking of taking only $15M from Inter earlier in the window. So I think valuing him at something like $25M is too much considering the...

    Danilo lowered his wages?

Danilo is worse, older and makes more money than Cancelo. But we are willing to take him because why?

So we are getting all this plusvalenza from all these deals but still had to sell Spinazzola a month early for plusvalenza? When we know we could sell Cancelo? Scatter brain management.

Well your point was that Sarri uses a defensive right back and an attacking left back. But what happens if Costa gets the ball on the right? Then we are using an attacking right back lol. He's not going to buy/sell players because he prefers a certain side of the pitch.

Well he had Hazard at Chelsea and before that Insigne at Napoli so obviously the play will go through them on the left.

I don't think Sarri prefers to attack down a specific flank. Whichever fullback is attacking, the opposite goes into a back 3. I think both fullbacks should attack and defend.

So the money from this would probably be used on de Ligt? If so, no-brainer.

Meh. Cancelo got hurt last year too and never recovered, it seems. We can find a backup LB somewhere. Or just let MDS play there and find a backup RB instead. Or the backup RB is Cuadrado :shifty: The key is to actually use the money for something though.

I prefer to keep him but I think Spinazzola is better. :snoop: If we use Cancelo's money for a big CM signing, we'll be fine.

The hilarious thing is that with this absolutely iron clad idea that we have to defend with two banks of four, he actually fits pretty well as a RM in that scenario.

Did we not watch him at Inter before we bought him? Is our board surprised that he has defensive weaknesses all of a sudden? This season was about what you would have expected on aggregate. But before he got hurt, he showed something special. After he got hurt, a trainwreck. For me actually...

I really don't think this guy is a fullback. He's something else. I said many pages ago that I don't see how he was developed as a defender. All his instincts are in attack. How is Cuadrado an attacker and Cancelo is a defender? It's almost the opposite for me. CM, RW, RM, etc.

I think he is wasted at RB. I said since we acquired him that I don't know how he made it through so many levels and was considered a defender. Whether it is dribbling skill or attacking smart or just willingness and athleticism to run, he gets into extremely dangerous positions.

Normal for us at least. We have players blow out muscles in warm-up. I'm scared to see how much running they do in practice.
