There is a movie that describes the open source project, how it all started and what the status is. It was made in 2001 and I thought it was very enlightening. If you get a chance to watch "Revolution OS", do it. They tried to make it understandable for everyone, not just people in the biz.

Is what worth it? I find this article somewhat flawed because there is no clearcut conclusion. The guy just can't sidestep the accepted state of affairs, that Ms Office is still better than OpenOffice right now. Maybe that will change but so far it's still a step ahead. In terms of usability...
