Pjanic, Kovacic, Pogba, Khedira, Marchisio, Lemina, Sturaro
That would be some SERIOUS quality in the midfield, and only one of them being 30 years old

Make it happen, Osman.
I really liked him at Inter.
Make it happen
Not at possibly double the price for a kid who is a year older and without the Serie A experience that Kovacic already has.
And he was performing well at Inter, of all places. Quite possibly the strangest transfer move that Inter made last year was selling this kid who was looking like he...
Fair enough. I don't think we will be betting Pjanic, and it doesn't seem as if Barca want to sell Mascherano. It doesn't mean that there isn't another MF out there that we are keeping an eye on.
Shouldn't the opinion of the transfer be solely based upon your valuation of that particular player, and not if we get other midfielders? Does getting Mascherano suddenly mean that Kovacic is a better player, or conversely he is worse if we don't get Mascherano?
There are leaders on other parts of the pitch. I'm not worried about a perceived lack of leadership in midfield. I just want talent, and if that means that Lemina and Kovacic are those who step in for the aforementioned Marchisio and Khedira, then I am all for that. 100%

Kovacic can flat out play. Inter didn't sell him because they wanted to. They sold him because they felt they had to with FFP. Mancini himself was quoted saying that. To me, he is definitely more of a finished product than Gomes, and Kovacic is a full year younger
I would absolutely take this kid.
Inter only sold him because they had to balance their books for FFP, certainly not because of concerns about his talent.
