Tried to Robben every attack Bologna got, he ended up running virtually across our penalty area to get a shot in. Probably because he had little faith in his strikers. Anyway, he is still a weapon doing that, could be useful with better players. But MDS had him under control when it came to...

As much as I like Chiesa, spending €22m on Orsolini instead of €70m or whatever on him makes more sense for us.

The question is just what we pay for the buyback clause and what difference we can get for him.

Obviously our buy back clause is going to be higher than Atalanta's. Why would it be the same or lower, are Atalanta developing him out of kindness?

There is no hard rule for loans, it's agreed between the clubs. They might agree to leave it open for discussion after one season, they might agree on some kind of compensation if the deal is terminated early, we don't know. I don't expect to see him play for us for at least 3 seasons though.

Considering Caldara was €20m+ I think the numbers will be higher, but we have to remember that Atalanta are not a real wealthy team. As long as the gap between option and counter-option is not too big we can hardly lose in this deal. Dry loans are ok but give the loaning club little incentive to...

I expected him to be on loan for 2 years anyway. The buyback clause thing isn't really a problem if the numbers are right, it's much better than what happened with Joe Vinko and the co-ownership scenario. To be good enough for Juve he'll have to be really good, so if we end up having to pay...

He doesn't have that blistering acceleration but that mix of dribbling and ox-like low centre of gravity is a great combo. Oh and he has a good left foot that scores goals, which makes all the difference between good and excellent.

It's not a surprise to see the coach go with more experienced players once a team starts to get into a relegation scrap, especially in Italy.

€6m is a standard for price for any talent. Could be worse, signing a player from the Championship now costs between £7m and £15m (€8m - €17.5m) it's farcical. Look at it this way - Berardi cost €4.5m for half of his contract when he was the same age after a standout Serie B season, and now...
