    Pro Evolution Soccer 2014

Since the early PES days I've always used that low shoulder button curler into the corner to finish, so I don't know any different.

You'll notice it straight away, the passing is a bit sharper, shooting better, keepers don't spill the ball ridiculously, there doesn't appear to be as much 'rubber-banding' when you sprint past players (although it's still there), if you tap a shot it now shoots the ball first time rather than...

Forgot to say, but the game is infinitely better since Data Pack 2.0.

DLC 2 out tomorrow (15th December) with game fixes, 800 new preset faces, updated kits, transfers and other stuff. Better late than never... A few guys who have tried the Winning Eleven version (DLC 2 is out today for that) say that the game plays a lot better, smoother, less buggy. We'll...

Finally the rest of the preset faces are coming, another 800+ taking the total to 1000+. See here: http://pesfan.it/content/277-Pes-2014-ecco-i-dettagli-sul-DLC-ufficiale-immagini Some examples: Looking at the Parma-Juve screenshot all those players in that shot have...

I was playing against some Saudi team and a guy put a low diagonal cross in. In real life the keeper would just come out and pick the ball up. For some reason Casillas dives forward and tips the ball forward like he is saving a shot, then another player taps it in. Just something else for...

Goalkeepers are very hit and miss on this game. On long range shots they are brilliant, but anything low and close to the goal and they start throwing the ball around instead of deflecting it away. Both Buffon and Casillas have made several huge howlers for me.

The demo is different to the main game, most say the demo is better.

Through balls are good, you can either use the normal basic system, and now there is an advanced system that lets you position the pass and weight of it. Takes some getting used to. General passing is not as good, maybe it's more realistic but it is slower and more difficult.

Yeah, I'm definitely getting more used to it now, even it is still frustrating at times. I've found that using the analogue sticks when receiving possession is the best method, rather than the shoulder buttons like before, as you can move the ball away from the opponent and also start skill...

    Pro Evolution Soccer 2014

I'm playing on Superstar level, which I always do when I buy the new game, the steep learning curve pays off more quickly. So imagine my suffering right now  The passing isn't sharp, and my favourite aspects of PES 2013 - the close control in tight areas, rolling players, being able to...

Doubt it, even less so if you are used to playing FIFA. A lot of reviewers say the gap has closed, but they are mostly not used to playing one or the others.

I messed about with them yesterday and I think I have something I can now start to work with. The first set up I had my team were virtually playing the game instead of me :D

Watch Konami patch the shit out of this now, they will bring it back closer to the demo. I think the support options are important, I still don't think I have mine right.

That never stopped people buying FIFA for years. Ironically this is the most FIFA-like PES there has ever been, the passing has been changed for the worse.

    Pro Evolution Soccer 2014

Yeah, but they aren't at all bothered. Few play it offline, and they release DLCs all the time throughout the season with various kit and boot updates. The DLCs are essentially part of the game, you can't just buy and play a finished PES any more. When a PES comes out you had best not bother...

    Pro Evolution Soccer 2014

What's happened is that as usual Konami have released a half finished game, so they haven't had time to add preset faces for all the players they wanted to (those in PES 2013 plus more). So they are releasing DLC's with preset faces at ~200 a time to catch up. Take for example Kyle Walker in...

    Pro Evolution Soccer 2014

Haven't played yet, but PES has been doing this for the last couple of generations. Shouldn't try to do anything like FIFA in terms of gameplay, that was never the appeal of PES. People should also top freaking out, I remember virtually breaking down first playing PES 2013, with the defensive...

The models and physics for me always look so much better on PES, I watch FIFA and straight away it sticks out for me, just reminds me of all the other EA franchises with their movements. The one huge exception being goalkeepers, who I think have poor physics on PES. Edit: Celtic in the CL, lol.

    Pro Evolution Soccer 2014

I think the opposite, as Konami's game has always been about the game play, not having flashy licensing etc. That was evident from the ISS Pro Evolution Soccer days where it came in and felt like something from the future compared to the plodding FIFA game (a bit like how you explained). I...
