It's not like oil companies aren't also going to make billions from investing in renewable energies. They aren't just going "right that's it, last one out turn the lights off".

You mean like John Clauser, the theoretical physicist, I presume? I wonder what Barack Obama or Henry Kissinger said about global warming. I think a lot of this is down to the media especially in the West giving more coverage to skeptics (in many fields) than they do to scientists, simply...

Ok, I thought it might be. I guess YouTube experts and conspiracist sites sound more attractive when the reality isn't very nice and cause people an amount of inconvenience.

Think there needs to be a distinction made between natural severe and sudden cyclical climate change that can and will happen in periods of thousands of years, and the scientific concensus that the driving factor of the current issue is anthropogenic. For example ozone depletion is partly...

So basically if humans weren't here to save the planet by pumping CO2 into the atmosphere all plants would be dead within the next 10 million years. Worrying stuff.

You don't understand the difference between climate and weather. Now check one month later for European temperatures in 2022, and compare to 2017. That's weather.

Maybe wiki Dr Judith Curry first. She might have credentials but is very fringe. I know it's increasingly attractive these days to be drawn in by people like this. If you set out to be a denier then I suppose she's great. I don't think paper straws are particularly the answer, think we need to...

Put it this way, old people living here 70 years said it's the worst flooding in their lifetimes, and more protection has been put up over the decades for prevention - it is not a common occurrence even if it is to be expected in exceptional circumstances. If this becomes an ongoing thing then...

It's getting that way in UK cities. The low emissions zones are getting bigger and the cost to travel through them increasing.

Why are you fixating on numbers from 50 million years or so ago? Why not take it back to 3 billion years ago when the Earth was about 3000°C warmer than today? The cycle I am referring to is relative to the last few millions years, perhaps. Earth's geology is believed to have caused the rise in...

I'm not an expert by any means. What I posted above was the important parts of the video outlined. As far as I know with the Ozone layer it is not an immediate cause for concern since we banned CFCs. Greenhouse gases are the pressing issue, firstly CO2 but more seriously methane and N2O.
