I've always found that if you have an addictive personality, you don't give up smoking, you replace it with another vice. Except Working Out and things like that are 'good vices' most of the time. I have to odd cigar/cig but I'm much the same as yourself.

I have one friend who quit straight up eight motnhs ago, simple as. A handy tip is to not hang out with your douchebag friends that smoke for the first week or so, because they'll be all insecure that they don't have the balls to give up and try and make you fail :D
