We would not be so rich if we spent money on players that will not fit into our system. Nedved and Rivaldo are very similar players. Both are left sided players who for one reason or another must play in the attacking mid-field role. Rivaldo would be redundant in the current system.

Nedved isn't a classic forward. He is more like DP or Rivaldo, who attacks from a deeper position. This can make it confusing as to whether he is playing forward or mid-field, but ultimately he probably plays the same way.
