    Now that is an intriguing question. I'm surprised no one (that I know of) in the media or football world has bothered to ask it before. Italy was already in decline so the answer is probably yes, but I don't think it would have happened so fast.

    The advantage Italy is gaining right now is not enough though. When season 05/06 is cleared (doesn't count any longer) Italy may very well find themselves in 4th place. Back then Italy scored 15,357, while Germany only scored 10,437.

    It probably wont last, but for now Italy are leading the 09-10 rankings. If they keep it up 3rd place overall may be secured after all.

    Andy, you should know opinions are never objective! :snoop: That being said, I agree with your post completely! If Serie A keeps getting worse, we'll end up with a league like the French one: still interesting to watch, but what chances do the French teams really have on the highest...

    Exactly. Sooner or later we're gonna have a/some bad season(s). That happens to all teams. Hell, about 10 years ago we had a pretty good team and still needed the Intertoto Cup to get ourselves into Europe.
