    Thoughts about the team

Sure, but he was a key player in the team. Besides, using that logic you could call everyone a choker. No one has ever won a game alone.

    Thoughts about the team

He's a choker on a certain level. Compared to for example you though he isn't, he plays for Juventus and has won 5 scudetti. Not too many people can say the same.

    Thoughts about the team

I used to have great crosses, but then I went to play as a playmaker and I lost that skill. But I'm quite confident that if I'd play winger again those crosses would come back. So I think sooner or later Del Piero's free kicks will return.

    Thoughts about the team

You're right about that. But that shouldn't have anything to do with his game. He should be able to take those free kicks even if he were 45. It's all about confidence I guess.

    Thoughts about the team

I know, we all know. But he used to have that eye for goal. And I think, deep inside him, he still wants to be the player he was. But he's different now, obviously not so good anymore, but still valuable as a PLAYMAKER.

And Baggio, read my post again, you'll see my actual point weren't those years.

    Thoughts about the team

Oh really? I would check if they were even there at that time, Baggio. They were at 1996 though, but I was referring to DP's freekick against Real Madrid that year.

    Thoughts about the team

Well, I never started with them and I believe I did post something with sense about Del Piero. I believe we still need Del Piero. But I do think we should get a new no.10. No one in our current squad can fill Del Piero's shoes, not even Zlatan. Remember where Del Piero was at Zlatan's age: he...

    Thoughts about the team

Because Del Piero keeps on stating he's a striker and not a playmaker. To hell with Del Piero's opinion, just play him there whatever he says!

    Thoughts about the team

Hmmm... Remember Trezeguet only scored in the first leg thanks to Del Piero. And IMO Del Piero was great in the second leg. Perhaps not as good as Nedved, but he sure was one of our best players in that game. And IIRC we wouldn't have gone through if not for Del Piero's goal.

That's all I have to say about this subject.

    Thoughts about the team

If you honestly do believe Juventus would have won those scudetti without Del Piero you're quite blind. Or perhaps Del Piero wasn't even the reason for Juventus being in the 1996, 1997 and 1998 CL final.

    Thoughts about the team

Del Piero was Italy's playmaker against Wales. Result: a great game for DP and a 4-0 victory for Italy.

    Thoughts about the team

True. I don't know why everyone simply denies the FACT Del Piero made us win the scudetto in 2002 and 2003. We've been great the past 10 years thanks to Del Piero, let's not forget that. In 1999 we had our worst season, Ale wasn't there. If you look at the statistics Del Piero has been great for...

    Thoughts about the team

Well, it all depends on how you see Del Piero. If he tries to play like in 98, he'll never be what he was. He plays differently now, and I do see him being useful to the team. And whatever he might say himself, he should be our playmaker. He's not a good striker anymore, but his vision and his...
