Trez to Arsenal was never very likely following the Gunners' 20m purchase of Reyes, and now that they've got Van Persie I think it's pretty obvious that DT isn't going to Highbury. Chelsea and Barcelona were always the favourites anyways...

As for why I think Van der Vaart is more suited to Barca than Juve, he wants to play for the Catalonians and imo his style of play goes hand in hand with that of La Liga.

I think it could work because both Ronnie and VDV are capable of playing behind the strikers or as a forward so they could take turns pushing forward, dropping deeper, pulling wider, ect. Saviola? He'd have to be a sub.

I wouldn't bank on Diego being like Kaka, or more specifically I wouldn't put my money on him adapting to Serie A as well and as quickly as Kaka did.

Sure he would. Barca could play 4-3-2-1 with Ronnie and VDV behind Trez. Xavi is more of a central midfielder than a trequartista anyways. I think he could do well with Barcelona, even if Man Utd would suit him very well too.

Rosicky doesn't need to have defensive skills, he's a playmaker ffs! Do Zidane, Totti and Ronaldinho have defensive skills? No, and neither does Van der Vaart. What Juve needs is an attacking player who can pass the ball well and orchestrate attacks. Rosicky is that player imo. Van der Vaart has...

Enough to know that he's better than Van der Vaart.

I agree that VDV is overhyped but he's still a good player with a very promising future ahead of him. PS. I've always preferred Rosicky. He's a better passer and offers more creativity imo.

That's why we're going to sell Trezeguet and possibly Thuram.

I don't think we'll get VDV or any other big name playmaker for that matter. At best it'll be someone like Pizarro or Jankulovski. PS. I prefer Rosicky to VDV anyways - I think he's a better passer, and we badly lack good passers.

If France do well, which they probably will, Henry will boss the tournament. I can see Totti having a good Euro2004 as well, and since this is going to be Del Piero's last major tournament with the Azzurri I'm sure he's going to give it all he's got.

I dunno why, but I prefer Rosicky.

Yeah, they could be, but with Moggi in charge of things that's not very likely.

With 42m we could get an established playmaker like Rosicky or Van der Vaart, two or three young defenders, AND Gilardino, as well as Trabelsi who would come for free.

I'd keep Di Vaio, but Thuram, Montero, Ferrara, Iuliano, Trezeguet, Zalayeta, Conte and possibly Pessotto should all be shown the door imo. - Trabelsi for Thuram - Mexes for Montero - Ferrari/Squillaci for Ferrara - let Tudor play in defence rather than Iuliano - Gilardino for Trezeguet...

It won't take alot of money to sure up the defence as Trabelsi is free, and none of Mexes, Ferrari or Squillaci cost 10m. Gila won't cost very much either so we would make a profit if we sold Trez and got him, leaving money which I would spend on either Pedretti (DM) or Diego (AM).
