Is Lugano and Alex an option? Say fener gets relegated, which seems unlikely, and he comes for free. I'd imagine wages would be a problem. Unless Bonucci or Barzagli leaves.

As much as I'd like him, I believe that Lugano is more suitable because of his defense leading abilites. Ivanovic nor Alex are defense leaders and need Terry to tell them what to do. Players like Lugano, Vidic (not saying we're getting him) etc. are what we need.

He would get into starting XI of Chelsea, Inter & Real. He's not good enough to break the partnerships of T.Silva - Nesta, Puyol - Pique & Vidic - Ferdinand. He'll never be the defense leader though and needs someone else to lead.
