For both of you. The first centre back substitute at Juve was Cáceres, and he had 12 Serie A starts and 6 substitute appearances. Sørensen had 20 starts for Bologna and 5 substitute games in Serie A. The way Juve are doing things is the correct way with a baby defender.

Playing for Bologna doesn't take away from him being Juve's investment.

I was unconvinced because settling the team ahead of pre season must be a target for every club, in an ideal world.

Meeting should be going on now according to them, with everyone signing the papers. Looks like Juve are close to actually completing business before pre season starts for the club.

A deal has not been done, this is still quite early, but I think management are spinning plates as they have done each summer since taking over. Though I also wouldn't be happy if they completed this before settling a deal for a forward. Chiellini's fitness problems probably play a big factor...

I thought about Chiellini's injury problems but I found Cáceres to be handy in that position, more than most natural right footed players would. If Chiellini wasn't good for half the season (Ledley King style) then I would be a lot more tempted to see Ogbonna purchased, but I wouldn't go over...

I agree. I think Barzagli is the defender Juve should be looking to find a replacement for first.
