Angelo Ogbonna - CB - Torino

He just has the wrong build to move quickly from a static position, tall and gangly.

Just how you think we need to look for a Barzagli replacement. If Sorensen isn't going to be his back up I don't know where he can play.

So you've given up on Sorensen already? :D

That's more to do with going with players known to us and cheap; ergo average Italian players. I don't see it as any kind of weakness, either individually or collectively, to buy the players we have. In fact our team spirit seems quite great and the back three have a good understanding, so...

Angelo Ogbonna - CB - Torino

Overpaying for Italians is true, we are an Italian team in the Italian league. The same happens in England. The first part is quite clearly bs considering we already bought Caceres & Lucio. Must be quite odd to be a Juventus fan who hates part of our identity.

Other notable 25 year old central defenders: J. Boateng, Dedé, Ranocchia, Höwedes, Sokratis, Otamendi, Douglas, J. Evans. I think you could comfortably put him top 10 with those age/position parameters, but that is quite specific. If you go one year old you are looking at the likes of David...

This actually sounds like the kind of rambling nonsense you hear from a drunk person sat in the corner on their own in a pub.

Angelo Ogbonna - CB - Torino

Who would be vice-Bonucci? I've put Ogbonna as the third choice, as in my opinion he's the other best ball player from that group.

Angelo Ogbonna - CB - Torino

The right side of our team had better continuity and fitness than the left side last season. For the upcoming season we shouldn't assume that Barzagli and Lichtsteiner will both be available for as many games as they were. If anything Ogbonna's purchase should be contrasted against Peluso.

I see Caceres as coverage for all the right sided defensive positions, and Ogbonna as the left. Maybe more than cover, guys you can put in for games and have a degree of security. Peluso is more like cover.

Doria is better off going to Benfica than here, we won't give him the space to play like he would there, so his growth there is pretty irrelevant for us.
