    [GER] Bundesliga 2010/2011

It's the new trend. In the same way that Katie puts extra letters at the end of wordsssssss, I put extra ":" at the end of smilies.:::::::::::

Would that not just put Wolfsburg into a relegation playoff? Do they not need both Frankfurt and Gladback to overtake them to go straight down?

Indeed. Quite poor, I think, that the managerial changes have been publically announced before the end of the season. Just gives more potential for awkward situations and conspiracy theories.

And you get a nice big pay off when you get sacked for doing a shit job.

Coaches would say that, just because it would give them greater job security.

    [GER] Bundesliga 2010/2011

What about a certain Edinburgh club who built an unnecessary new stand instead of improving their team and now find themselves in a relegation battle?

Samp could run relegation quite close. They don't have that big a cushion, so once they start sliding, they could find themselves under pressure very quickly.

And Wolfsburg sold them for reasonable sensible fees, unlike Samp.

Sure, I'm just saying that I don't think any less of Hodgson because of what happened at Liverpool.

He knows how to organise a team, particularly in defence. There was something going on at Liverpool, besides the takeover, that meant he was never given a chance (players and fans didn't take to him from the start).

I rate Hodgson as a coach.

Taking Middlesborough to a UEFA Cup final was pretty good.

He should have been sacked by Xmas at the very latest. God knows why they have kept him this long.

He is probably the best defender of his type around.

    [GER] Bundesliga 2010/2011

He looks very promising. Looks more of a sweeper, ball playing sort of defender, than a dominant guy who is going to attack the ball. If Bayern go and get a strong, dominant Chiellini/Vidic type they'll be sorted for a while, just like Germany should be with a Badstuber-Mertesacker partnership.
