    [International Friendly] Italy-Brazil (02/10/09)

I'm yet to see a defender to completely shut down Messi. Seriously, was there a defender or a DMC in the last 2 seasons who outplayed Messi? Maradona was right to say that this kid is his successor. Messi can be better than Maradona, as impossible as it sounds.

How and why is Motta making it into your line-ups? One day he may easily become an azzurri starter, but why nobody considered him 10 days ago and now after he moved to Roma and played 1 single match there, he becomes a starter for the azzurri?

Exactly what i meant. Good players are the worst part of the team, so you can imagine the others. Gilberto is still a very good and useful player. No wonder every Brasilian coach starts him. He's 32 and he's far from being old. I read that he's re-born in Panathinaicos and one of the main...

I like this Brasil. They aren't just dancers with the ball, they're also tough. Maicon, Melo and Gilberto are doing the job that wasn't done in 2006. With Anderson soon to become a regular it will be even better. They finally have a world class goalkeeper (not that Dida wasn't one, but it...

Hmmm, maybe he did change the tactics, but the subs he made on these matches don't imply something like that. Against Montenegro he started with 4-3-3 and then he replaced Di Natale with Quagliarella and Aquillani with Perrotta, so he had Perrotta, Gattuso and De Rossi in midfield with Pepe...

No Rab, he doesn't. I just checked it. Only against Cyprus he switched from 4-3-3 to 4-4-2. On all the other matches he played 4-3-3 from min 1 till the last whistle. Edit: Against Cyprus he switched from 4-3-3 to 4-3-1-2 actually, not to 4-4-2.

He should have been more flexible, at least during matches, i agree. He could have changed the formation, depending on the opponent. But now we see Lippi doing the same. Italy-Brazil 4-3-3 (Pepe-Gilardino-Di Natale) Italy-Montenegro 4-3-3 (Pepe-Gilardino-Di Natele) Italy-Bulgaria 4-3-3...

Here we have a really nice question. People in Italy and all the azzurri fans around the world wanted to crucify Donadoni for playing the wrong tactics (4-3-3). He was an "awful coach". Now all of a sudden, the master, the greatest coach of all times, and everybody's idol Lippi is also...

Yeah, but there is one very important difference if we talk about the WC 2010. Italian golden boys were the generations 1973-1979. The French golden boys were the guys born in 1972-1977. The French were short of quality players born in 1978-1982 and they had a tough time replacing the golden...

The French at least have some u-25 talent in the team. Ribery, Gourcuff, Benzema, Sagna, Clichy, Nasri, Lassana Diarra, Toulalan, Flamini etc. Most of them are already world class and the others could be there in 2010, just in time for the WC. The French had problems replacing the stars from the...

Because he was given a lot of space to push forward and send 10 crosses of which 0 were good? Did you see him getting owned by Robinho for the second goal and losing 2 balls where he mustn't have done that?

 You can also write Donadoni instead of Ranieri. They'd have attacked him the same way.

Trust me, it is. But i think that Lippi will play with different XI in the second half so you could watch it for different reasons (to see Camo and Iaquinta).
