I think you're looking too much into it. I don't know the 'genre' of these shows, but they all have the same 'set-up' if that make sense. Like the show American Dad that has a similar set-up. The only show that stands out in this type of 'genre' is Futurama.

My friend and I were discussing this just the other in fact. Simpsons has lost its touch. Family is 10x better than the current Simpsons, in fact people don't watch that anymore. I don't get what you mean by "story" because Family Guy doesn't have one. It's just complete randomness and...
