Tiago is OK defensively but I don't know how much Almiron will help out. I just don't see either as being particularly good ball winners in midfield to really protect our defence. Going from 2 world class destroyers and 2 world class CBs when we were last in serie A to having an OK central...

Nasri is good but I would rather get a more proven player like Diego or Van Der Vaart. Also I would think Marseille would be very relutant to sell Nasri since they have already sold Ribery this summer.

:agree: With the number of players we needed to replace, we needed to get a number of very good players, which is what we have done, rather than getting a couple of world class players.

It would be too big a risk to start the season with Criscito. He has not played in serie A to my knowledge and has just had one good season in serieB. We need another CB but if we don't get one it will be Grygera or Chillini that starts with Andrade rather then Criscito I would think.

The problem with Ferdinand is that his pace and strength are usually used to recover from his own lapses in concentration. He was better last season, but I still don't rate him that highly. I prefer Vidic.

Miccoli and Kapo were OK players at best. Andrade is a very good player who we can base our defence on. The fees sound reasonable to me but some folk round here just seem to want to whinge about everything.

The only concern is how injury prone he is. Andrade is due a good while injury free though.
