Burke is right. 5 years out is ridiculous. That's like getting convicted for manslaughter at age 18 and not having to serve time until you're retired. Many of the players and coaching staff responsible may no longer even be around then. Something has to be done to make them face sanctions...

Blatter is an idiot. It was odd for him to quickly point out Turkey. My guess is that he underestimated how his own home national squad could be just as guilty, as he later stated that the Swiss could be subject to the same punishments -- given evidence.

I would agree with that. Switzerland didn't come off as saints either in this one, and they're subject to review. I wonder what the repurcussions might be for them... they're talking about the possibility of something equivalent.

Blatter is talking about banning Turkey from WC 2010 over this. Sad, because Turkey was probably the most respectfully behaved squad at WC 2002.
