I guess the difference to other strikers from Portugal is that Gyökeres already played well in the Championship. The culture and football style shock should be minimal.

He's been underwhelming, but he's still a 15 goal a season striker for some EPL team.

To be fair, with the wingback and winger display we saw yesterday, it would be better to have another quality striker to just hoof the ball up to.

The only positives were Thuram, Locatelli and Di Gregorio. Kalulu and Rugani did alright, neither being at fault during Real's goal. Many were average to poor, but Kostic looks completely out of his depth. Koopmeiners has zero confidence. Conceicao is, as we already knew, a one trick pony vs...

Is he in decent shape? Surely can't be worse than Koop/Luiz.

Surely worth more than 8 m, but you can't seriously argue that he's good enough for Juventus? At the very most a backup player. Just a little better than Iling-Junior, who hasn't shown anything since he was sold last year.

He was better this season that the previous and he's a decent player. Just not the one to make things happen in an underperforming team. Rather, his ceiling for Juventus is to be a squad player or the third midfielder next to two very talented and creative ones, i.e. what Luiz and Koopmeiners...

No reason for the hyperboles. He could be a pretty good striker for many decent teams, just not for this Juventus. He's like a striker version of say, Candreva, Bentancur or Giovinco.

I think he has it in him to undergo a Salah-like explosion, were he to play in a better team. Would be stupid to sell him too cheaply, like Roma did in hindsight.

He could be the second coming of Nesta. Or the new Caldara, Demiral, Criscito or De Ligt. In the 20 years or so that I've followed Juve, we have never regretted a CB sale.

I have never seen Kelly play and it's concerning that he wasn't a starter, but Newcastle have money and are currently 5th like us in a better league. It's a lateral move for him, disregarding history etc etc.

He was lucky and gambled from a bad position. He has a great shot from distance, it's probably his only world class trait, but 7 times out of 10 he is not scoring that.
