:shifty: so they were overrated...part of world cup as well as winning with a team like Wolfsburg first time...in a different league...I think a correlation can be established between their worth and their wins.
There is no need seeing as I said it's pure randomness where unpredictability reins supreme in the end....I'm sure they employ some people to look at other statistics when analysing play.
Hmmm that wasn't the point....I used it to show how decision makings in penalties are done and which strategy (no strategy is the best, just unpreditability) would be the best not how to move before a pen. I'm not discussing what a keeper can do and does do before he makes his decision to move..
No..Also the point we were discussing was the safest bet in terms of movement while keeping other factors constant...of course they won't be constant in real life but to determine which is the best course when choosing whether to react or not you have to keep other factors the same....it's the...
I still think he is a bit too laboured...and we need some agility in the field. As it stands he is a brilliant back up for Melo or Sissoko...but too static if both are playing. His passing and vision are of course great and second to none..
Some good comments..I quite like some of your players. Young of course was the most impressive and your defence wasn't bad either...As for Melo I think he reminds me more of emmerson in his movements and Alonso in his passing basically I got a hard on watching him :D
You misunderstand what game theory is....it's a mathematical model to determine the likeliest outcome based on a wide ranging stategies available to opponents. It's pretty much science...
I'm not disputing that having some experience would help to understand the process better but I still...
The point is once your opponent knows you are reacting to penalties you lose an advantage in timing...in fact their strategies become dominated because you are not simulatiounsly choosing anymore...the kicker has an advantage when making a decision because it will be made before the keeper...
How can you be predictable if you choose a random spot and throw yourself to it...you can only be predictable if you wait for the kick and slow your reaction times in relation to your movement or make it obvious where you are going to throw yourself. It is a know fact in game theory that in...
Tell that to Shilton and other keepers who tried such strategies....penalties are basically a game theory which thrive on unpredictability...if the keeper becomes predictable it is very easy to score once you figure out to just hit it at a fair angle ...Furthermore the reaction times between...
Actually the whole strategy of saving pens by reactions is stupid...however today that keeper found another player who was as idiotic in his decision making when taking the pen...
No big deal anyway. We played k..when you consider 3 of our players were virtually on the bench. Created plenty...
It was a good game overall for us...I sometimes felt like we were playing with 8 players with Molinaro, Giovinco and Treze offerign nothing...in the second half IQ helped make it 7 v 11. Still we had plenty of chances and the more I see Melo play the better I feel about the team.
