  1. Diego, Silva or Ribéry?

Silva was the best player in the world last year? He played well for Spain, but was not even their central player: Torres and Xavi arguably had better Euro performances. Still, in terms of bang for buck, i like Silva. Diego is a good midfielder, but his position - central attacking mid, is...
  2. David Trezeguet

    The Trez pass was mouthwatering......
  3. Capitano Giorgio Chiellini

That tackle was not rash - it was a stern talking at worst. The difference is Drogba has a reputation as a world class player. In a few years, Chiellini will start getting calls. I thought he actually had a good game today
  4. Il Capitano Alessandro Del Piero

When a player gets over 30 they need to rest to be fit for when they do play. At United, Giggs and Scholes warm the bench a lot also, even though they have more soccer intelligence in their pinkies then the rest of the team combined
  5. [SERIE A] Torino 0-1 JUVENTUS (7th/March/09)

This was a tense derby, as expected. The cleansheet is always nice and chiellini is a few years of seasoning away from being world class
  6. [Champions League] JUVENTUS 2-2 Chelsea (03/10/2009)

It is sad to see Nedved so far past his glory days. Still, the team looks cohesive and like other people have said, these are teh growing pains young teams go through before they learn how to become champions
  7. [SERIE A] Palermo 0-2 JUVENTUS (21/02/09)

Yeah the 4-3-3 was great - Tiago and Sissoko can clean up messes, Cama can come back and help out from time to time, and the front three can create at will.
  8. Juventus 2008/09 stats

Any word yet on distance covered? Sissoko just seems to run and run and run and run and...well u get the pic
  9. David Silva

Yeah, Juventus did best when it had a 4-4-2 with a diamond in the cneter, with one guy to clean up messes and the other guy to creative. Sissoko can clean up messes, but who can pull the strings? I think Silva could replace Nedved eventually, but they are both wide players (at least right now)
  10. Diego, Silva or Ribéry?

Ribery is probably the best attacking winger in the game, but he would be expensive. Silva, coming back from injury, would be cheaper (although a bit risky) Diego is a CM that can pull the strings, and also is having an off year and would be a great value
  11. Thuram has ended his career

Thuram got what he deserved for leaving - a very bitter and troubled time at Barcelona where his lack of pace was exposed over and over again. Still, his goals in World Cup 98 and general grace on the ball set him apart. Imiss watching him play pre 2005
  12. David Trezeguet

You get the feeling that Trez could take a nap on the pitch for 88 minutes, wake up, and convert two chances in extra time without blinking. He is the ever-sharp blade, the snake in the grass, the TREZE-GREAT
  13. [Coppa Italia] JUVENTUS 0 - 0 (4-3 p.k.) Napoli (02/04/09

Both teams set out to defend and counter - creating a complex situation where neither team wanted the ball for very long, but one team had to have it! A cleansheet is always welcome as is a victim, but the goose egg is a disappointment
  14. The...I want this player to Juve thread

In terms of bang for buck, Maxi or Malouda seem good choices. In terms of star power, Ribery than then Ronaldo. Ribery reads the game better. Ronaldo has skills and takes good free kicks, but is still a horse in terms of his game
  15. [SERIE A] JUVENTUS 1 - 0 Fiorentina (01/24/09)

DP had a lovely pass, but I'd rather see him on the end of such passes AND SCORING, unlike Mr. March-ing band
