Hi. I'm a newbie, so sorry if this thread doesn't go in here.

I know there is this rule that if a player plays with a team at least one match, either a qualifier CL match or an actual CL match and he is transferred to another team, he isn't allowed to play with his new club on the CL that season.

Does that rule apply for CL matches only or also for local leagues as well?

Zlatan had already played a few matches for Ajax by the date of the signing... so I'm a bit confused.

he hasn't played in Europe with Ajax. So he isn't cup tied.

So yes he can play in the CL for Juve. :)
    Thank you :)

I then should assume that the same goes for Fabio, right?

Now, when is the official deadline for submitting player lists to UEFA?

Tomorrow (september 1st) (not 100% sure but pretty positive)... hopefully someone can confirm it.

    Welcome Isanie!!

It would be foolish to buy someone for 16million euros if he couldn't play in Europe... Hopefully Zlatan will prove me wrong about his attitude...

    Thread Name Changed
I've decided to make this the central place for all Zlatan talk. The Zlatan transfer thread is, well, for his transfer... but we can't just keep posting there all season long, so it's my pleasure to present... the official Zlatan thread

Here's a bunch of stuff on Zlatan:
The interview of Z after he signed for Juve (English) (thanks to IceBlu)
    TV Commercial
    Zlatan's bicycle kick against Miyazaki

    Courtesy of Nekton
Zlatan's stunning goal against NAC, 2 versions
Interview after the game, pathetic journalist who tries to win Zlatan up
Sweden 1-0 Holland - Zlatan assist
Sweden 2-0 Holland - Zlatan goal

    From Zlatan.net
Zlatan is as fast with his mouth as with his feet. It has become a trademark of Zlatan to throw one liners at journalists, and they love it.
Below on this page you can also find quotes on what others have said about Zlatan.
These quotes have been gathered by Zlatan.net, if you want to use them please quote both the medium where it was said and Zlatan.net.

About the final rounds of Eredivisie, with Ajax in a comfortable lead. (April 2004).
Reporter: "Do you think it's even possible for Ajax to lose nine points in nine games?"

Zlatan: "According to my calculations it is possible to lose nine points in only three games."

At the press conference after the game against England. (2004) Thanks to John S for the tip.

Reporter: "You´we got some scars in your face, Zlatan. What has happened?"
Zlatan: "Well...I don´t know...you´ll have to ask your wife about that"

"Is your playing style Swedish or Yugoslavian? (TV3 Denmark, 2003). Thanks to Stefan S for the tip.
    "It's Zlatan-style."

Zlatan about the rumour that he bought a super-Porsche. (Aftonbladet, Nov 28, 2002)
"Absolutely not. I have ordered a plane. It is much faster."

What would you name your son? (Chat on Ajax.nl, Aug 26, 2002)
    "Zlatan jr."

In the pause before extra time in the game against Senegal in the World Cup,
Magnus Hedman pulled down his pants to get a pain-relieving shot. Zlatan said: (July, 2002)

"What is this? Remember I'm only 20 years old."

Zlatan about how time stopped as he stood waiting on the side line to come in against Argentina in the World Cup. (Aftonbladet, July, 2002)
-"You could have punched me in the face, I wouldn't have noticed."

How many one night stands have you had in total? (VR, June, 2002)
"I don't do that stuff. For me it is romance and love...right?"

About if his new haircut in the World Cup was inspired by Magnus Hedman. (Aftonbladet, May 2002):
"No, I just went in and cut my hair and this is what I looked like when I came out."

About where he comes up with his moves. (Expressen, May 2002):
"They just come, I promise. It is nothing that I plan."

Answer to critizism from John Carew that Zlatan's moves are pointless. (VG, April 2002):

"What Carew does with a football, I can do with an orange." (meaning that Carew doesn't come close to having the same technical skills as Zlatan)

"Is there anything in the world that could stop you from becoming no 1 in the world?" (2001):
    "An injury."

About being able to walk in to a car outlet and be able to buy any car you want (from "Blådårar 2") (2002):
"You'll have to get used to it."

On his move on Stephane Henchoz of Liverpool (there has been some doubts whether his move was on Henchoz or Hyypiä):
"First I went left, he did too. Then I went right, and he did too. Then I went left again, and he went to buy a hot dog."

On the question what his girlfriend got when they got engaged:
"What she got? She got Zlatan."

"Which is the club of your dreams?" (2001):

"Real Madrid, Barcelona, and I have always liked Inter."

    On humbleness:
"I am like (Muhammad) Ali. When he said he would knock someone out in the fourth round, he did it."

"Have you got any more idols (apart from Ali)?" (2001):

    "Maradona, on the pitch."

On the question whether he would dribble defender Chivu, one of his teammates:
"I would dribble him. But he is still the best I have met."

About growing up after five months with Ajax:

About being stuck on the Ajax bench:
    "My time will come."

"Who is the most beautiful girl in the world?" (2001):
"I haven't met her yet, but when I do, I will date her."

About the relation to Ajax coach Co Adriaanse:

"I often think back to the feeling I had when I just started over here. I was a tiger, ready to face the world. Adriaanse gave me the feeling I am player you use for only ten minutes. I am full of ambition to become that tiger again."

About Hasse Borg of Malmö FF:
"Hasse keeps telling me I wouldn't have made it if I hadn't met him. But he always brags. I would have made tunnels on him all the time." (laugh)

To Malmö FF coach Michael Andersson during practice:
"Do you think that you are my mother?"

Answer to the question "If I say Anders Svensson and Kim Källström, what do you say?":
    "Zlatan."

Answer to the question "What are you NOT going to say when you meet your teammates in Ajax for the first time?":
"I am Zlatan, who the hell are you?"

On Malmö FF's return to the first division (2002):

"I will strike like lightning in Allsvenskan."

    Said about Zlatan:

Aleksandar Vasoski, left-back in Vardar, Macedonia. About having to mark England captain David Beckham (The Sun, Oct 15, 2002)
    - He will be the best player I've played against. The best I've marked up until now was Zlatan Ibrahimovic, of Sweden.

Henrik Larsson, Celtic (Expressen, Sept 29, 2002)
    - Zlatan is definitely the forward of the future for the national team.
He is big, strong, technical and fast and now he begins to get international experience.
I don't think there are any forward problems.
Zlatan has what it takes to become a great international player.

Hernán Crespo, Inter, after Champions League game (Sept 26, 2002)
    - He is one of the best forwards I have met this year. According to me he can become one of the world's greatest players.
    He already has enormous qualities.

Ivan Cordoba, Inter, after Champions League game (Sept 26, 2002)
    - There were some fine duels and without doubt he could play in some of the big leagues in Europe already.

Gazzetta dello Sport, before Champions League game against Inter (Sept 25, 2002)

    - Zlatan is a ghost that is lose and might be a butcher that can settle the game against Inter. (Marco) Materazzi has to be prepared to deal with the Swedish beast.

Inter's coach Hector Cuper, before Champions League game against Inter (Aftonbladet, Sept 25, 2002)
    - Normally such a big player is relatively slow. But he is not.
He is flexible and has the ability to score. He is a complete attacker.
His first goal against Lyon was excellent.
He is a good forward and has the ability to play in any league.

Lars Lagerbäck, coach for the Swedish national team (Expressen, Aug 13, 2002)
    - He is the greatest talent I have ever seen.
And I have watched Tomas Brolin and Fredrik Ljungberg closely when they started.
Zlatan has everything. He has the physique, the speed and the technique. If he has decided to win a fight over the ball, he does it.

Lars Lagerbäck, coach for the Swedish national team (Telegraph.co.uk, June 3, 2002)
    - He has already been compared with Brolin and Ljungberg. But I think he's got the potential to be better than either.
Zlatan could be one of Sweden's greatest players.

Johan Staël von Holstein, dotcom icon (DN, May 30, 2002)
    - Zlatan will be the king of the World Cup.

Björn Ranelid, writer (DN, May 31, 2002)

    - He invents moves that don't exist in the material world and they are done like jazz improvisations on the pitch.

Ian Chadband, ESPN Soccernet (May 28, 2002)
    - Like England's Joe Cole, Ibrahimovic can be infuriatingly erratic but has ball trickery of rare, delicious quality, almost unthinkable for a big man.

Ian Chadband, ESPN Soccernet (May 28, 2002)
    - His ego is the size of Stockholm.

Ian Chadband, ESPN Soccernet (May 28, 2002)

    - Zlatan is Sweden's Gascoigne.

Ian Chadband, ESPN Soccernet (May 28, 2002)
    - ...some of his extra-curricular japes would have done the young Gazza proud.

Stuart Baxter, spy for the England national team (Sportal.se, May 2002)
    - I cannot map him. I can just call to "Svennis" and say that he usually starts from a central position, but I don't know. He might as well stand on his head.

    <center><img src="quote3.jpg" alt="Quote" width="200"></center>
English paper the Observer after the game against Switzerland (March 2002)
Best described as a Swedish Kanu, Ibrahimovic is outrageously skilful with a full range of jinks, turns and backheels.

Mats Olsson, Expressen (Expressen, March 2002)
    - Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the best thing that has happened to Swedish football since IFK Göteborg won the UEFA Cup.

Tommy Söderberg, coach for the Swedish national team (March 20, 2002)
    - He is on to something big. He is an exceptional talent. When Zlatan has an opportunity, he has five alternatives, others have only one.

Ajax team mate Andre Bergdølmo (Nettavisen, March 19, 2002)
    - Zlatan is best in the world, during training. He does things no one else does. If he just can get some peace and quiet, he will become an incredibly good player.

Ajax president Michael van Praag (2002)

    - Personally I think he is a fantastic player. I expect a lot from him, he is a great talent.

Thomas Bodström, Swedish Minister for Justice and former AIK player (2001)
    - Zlatan is ready for Ajax, the question is whether Ajax is ready for Zlatan.

    Co Adriaanse, Ajax. (2001)
    - Zlatan and Kluivert are different.
But I think that Zlatan has the potential to become an equally big star.

Co Adriaanse, Ajax, after Zlatan signed with Ajax. (2001)
    - He really has good technique. You don't see that very often with tall players.
Probably because of the bigger distance between the brains and the feet.

    Leo Beenhakker, Ajax (2001)
    - He is a "one-touch-player" which we love in Ajax.

    Leo Beenhakker, Ajax (2001)

    - He is a classic "number nine".

Tommy Söderberg, coach for the Swedish national team (2001)
    - He is one of the few guys that can make a "backhand pass".

    He seems pretty cool, but:

"Which is the club of your dreams?" (2001):

"Real Madrid , Barcelona, and I have always liked Inter."

Why that's always have to be Real, can somebody explain me that?:(

    http://www.zlatanmovie.tk

Go download them all! It updates about once a year with the best of the past season, so remember to check back after the oncoming season has ended.
