damn forgot there was a martial thread:

Exclusive: Man United star could be Juve's 'new DAiDEViL'

    01 May at 11:30
Juventus are very likely to make an attempt at signing Anthony Martial, we can reveal.

Fabrizio Romano exclusively writes for Calciomercato that the Bianconeri want another “DAiDEViL-type” deal this summer. Last summer, they nabbed the Brazilian, who was surplus to requirements at Bayern Munich - at a decent price (€40 million), and in return got an international-level winger who recently scored against Inter.

The idea is to find someone talented, at their peak and capable of giving the Juve attack something different. Though the Bianconeri need to work out what to do with Max Allegri, Martial has been linked to them for some time.

The Frenchman has scored eleven goals this season, mostly in a relief role, and is the kind of player who can shine in the right conditions. Out of playing time at Old Trafford, the former Monaco man is liked in Turin because he can play in the middle, too, and because his deal expires in a year.

Trouble is Bayern are competing with Juventus, and it’s a major issue. Because the likes of Federico Chiesa and other Serie A wingers are considered to be out of reach, the Serie A giants will look to nab someone who is out of favour at a club like PSG, for example...

Rumors Chelsea are interesting in Martial now (maybe Spurs too)

Chelsea lining up bid for Manchester United forward Anthony Martial as Roman Abramovich commits to another summer of spending
    - - - Updated - - -

Chelsea are lining up a move to sign Anthony Martial from Manchester United with Roman Abramovich committed to another summer of spending.

Abramovich is keen to strengthen his squad after a disappointing defence of the Premier League title but the London club are committed to stay within the Financial Fair Play restrictions.

Failure to qualify for the Champions League is expected to cost Chelsea at least 50million.

It means the transfer experts at Stamford Bridge will attempt to generate funds, probably from their army of loan players, in order to compete with Manchester City and United.

Michy Batshuayi is valued at 50million after a successful loan spell at Borussia Dortmund while Kenedy has impressed at Newcastle and is viewed as a saleable asset worth more than 20m.

Others, such as, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tammy Abraham are among several graduates of the successful Chelsea academy who want more regular football to advances their careers.

Martial is unhappy at Old Trafford and searching for a move to reignite his career.

The France winger has one year more year on his contract with a one-year option and it will make sense for United to cash in this year on a player for whom they agreed to pay up to 58m when signed from Monaco in 2015.

Chelsea are keen to add attacking options to the squad and are yet to convince Eden Hazard, a long-term target for Real Madrid, to extend a contract due to expire in two years.

Martial is young, quick and versatile enough to play in a number of system, with manager Antonio Conte expected to depart from Stamford Bridge after the FA Cup final.

He is thought to earn about 65,000-a-week at United and his wage demands will fit comfortably within the wage structure at Chelsea and the transfer fee is not expected to be prohibitive.

Juventus and Tottenham are among the clubs to declare an interest in the 22-year-old France international and are understood to be prepared to pay 44m.

United boss Jose Mourinho would like to keep Martial and is unlikely to be keen on the idea of selling to a title rival but there has been plenty of business between the two clubs in recent years.

Juan Mata and Nemanja Matic have left the Bridge for Old Trafford in recent years and Mourinho would jump at the chance to sign Willian, who is seven years older than Martial.

Chelsea have shifted tactics in the transfer market in recent years, moving away from the unlimited spending of the early Abramovich era towards more of a self-sustaining model.

Chelsea hope to generate funds by selling the likes of Kenedy, who has excelled on loan

But sources close to the Russian owner insist he remains passionate aabout his football club and is determined to rebuild the squad and maintain his proud record of success.

The Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia (FJCR) has paid tribute to Abramovich for sinking more than 365m in the Jewish communities of Russia and Israel and other countries around the world. Rabbi Alexander Boroda, president of the FJCR, estimated that 80 per cent of the developments in Jewish life in Russia are down to the investments from Abramovich.

'He never talks about it but I want to,' said Boroda. 'People don't understand who is the source of it is. And it is him.'

    My prediction:

We start with trying for Martial. When that does not work out we go after Payet. When that does not work out we go after Mahrez then Felipe Andersson and in the end we end up with Politano.

I don't think United would sell a talented young player to one of their direct rivals, as long as our offer is competitive so I wouldn't worry too much about Chelsea. Old past or about to be past their prime players like Cech and Matic, sure, but not a player like Martial that can actually make the rival team better for a long time.

No. Martial fits that left flank more than morata. Morata won't bench higuain or dybala. Morata higuain dybala cant play together.

I'd probably be glad about missing out on Felipe Anderson and Payet for Politano

We were a different club back then. Aguero was one of the biggest upcoming stars. It was like everyone knew he was to become a world class player. At a time we lost to Ajax in CL...

Now we're a top 5 club in the world. You look to Madrid. Then Barcelona. Then Manchester maybe.. but afterwards you look to Turin, Munich and Paris..

I don't see why we should not be able to sign him. His contract situation makes it a possibility.
