I don't remember the last time they finished fourth

2003–04 when Valencia won the title.

    1999–2000 they were fifth.

    1997–98 they were 4th.

But yeah, funny thing, every time that happened and when they were $#@! in La Liga, they won the CL.
Pirlo has no equal in Europe, Vidal is a champion. And Marchisio, though little noticed, when he is one hundred per cent [he too] is a champion.
commentator: "...marchisio.... hardly mentioned his name tonight"

Honestly his finishing was just letting him down. He was still positioning himself perfectly.

Dembele on the bench against Valencia today, guess Valverde wants to rest him for semifinals?

We analysed who the better big-game player is, Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi — and the stats show the winner is clear

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi continue their battle to be the best soccer player on the planet.
But only one player has made his way to the 2018 UEFA Champions League semifinal.
Statistics show that Ronaldo is far superior to Messi when it comes to big match performance-level in the latter stages of the tournament.
In these games, Messi fails while Ronaldo succeeds.

The stats show the winner is clear

The last time Messi scored a UEFA Champions League goal in the quarterfinal stage or later was in 2015, when he struck twice in his side’s 3-0 semifinal win over Bayern Munich. Since then, he has failed to score in the latter stages (quarterfinal or later).

Ronaldo, since Messi’s two goals against Bayern that year, has scored 11 quarterfinal goals, three semifinal goals, and two goals in the final.

However, this season alone, Messi has created two goals and scored six in 10 Champions League appearances. This is an attacking efficiency of a goal scored or created once for every 97 minutes he has been on the pitch.

Messi’s strike rate in Europe is impressive, yes – but not when you compare him to Ronaldo.

Ronaldo has created three goals and scored 15 in 10 Champions League outings. That’s an attacking efficiency of a goal scored or created once for every 50 minutes he has been on the pitch.

In European competition, Ronaldo has been twice as productive as Messi has this season.

There is no argument to be had – when it comes to the latter stages of their careers, it is Ronaldo and Ronaldo alone who has been excelling in the big games on the grandest of stages.

I'm neither a Ronaldo fanboy nor a Messi one and I don't like Ronaldo's general attitude, but about time he gets the recognition for what he does on the field.

lol at Messi being much better.

Meme goalkeeper. Would rather play Sven Ullreich than this clown.

You know how it is on Tuz. If a player is old and not at the same level as he used to be, every mistake is the benchmark for his overall performance.

He has a rich history of brainfarts and was never that good to begin with.

Not judging him on one mistake at all.

Not the point. Mistakes is everything (on Tuz), when it comes to older players. World class players, from other teams, never make a mistake.
