Arsenal are planning to make an official announcement on Wednesday.

The Gunners were fifth in the Premier League this season, the first time they have finished outside the top four since the Frenchman joined in 1996.

They finished 18 points behind champions Chelsea, but beat the Blues to win the FA Cup at Wembley on Saturday.

Wenger's contract was set to finish at the end of the current campaign.

    More to follow.

The F1 remains as of 2013 one of the fastest production cars ever made; as of July 2013 it is succeeded by very few cars including the Koenigsegg Agera R, the SSC Ultimate Aero TT,and the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. However, all of the superior top speed machines use forced induction to reach their top speeds, whereas the McLaren F1 is naturally aspirated.

Anyone who had any doubt this was going to happen doesn't really know much about Arsenal and how they operate. This was always going to happen, irrespective of whether we won the FA cup mind you, and the only reason it wasn't announced earlier was because of the hostile environment we were playing in anyway. If this was announced during the season, the environment would have been almost unbearable for Wenger.

Did you guys see when Arsene a week before the final that the board had to make the right decision and not the popular one?

Our board has no sporting ambition, the owner Stan Kroenke owns other sports teams in the US, he is an investor first and foremost, and cares only about cashing in from his investments. Commercially we are very successful; so obviously he is never going to go out there and bring in a manager that would demand funds, players, and resources.

If Sanchez also ends up leaving this summer as he is expected to; I think we Arsenal fans have to brace ourselves for years of fifth and sixth, thursday night football, and our star players being Walcott, Ramsey, Welbeck and Chamberlain.

It was 100 procent predictable, doesn't make it any less funny tho. It's in fact pure insanity in footballing terms.

Chamberlain is leaving for Pool, no? That's what I keep hearing.

Arsene is 30 prem matches away from catching up to Ferguson's record as the all time longest serving manager in the premier league. Consider that done.

When you get punished as much as Arsenal fans do, you become jaded.

Excellent article in the Guardian showcasing how many Arsenal fans are satisfied with mediocrity.

I would have started supporting Napoli years ago if our board was half as unambitious.
