Go Ahead Eagles (Netherlands) are getting in Europa by financial-fairplay-prize. They are relegated from Eredivisie to Jupiler League (second League in the Netherlands) :facepalm2: :facepalm2:

UCD Dublin (a university team) goes also into Europe by FFP prize :facepalm2:

Are Shkëndija any use?

Should I be worried ahead of Thursday?
I dont think you should be too much in regards to quality. On the other hand, Macedonian teams seem to step it up psychologically in these sorts of matches. Expect them to be fully motivated and ready to go. Quality wise, you should be calm, Aberdeen has the clear advantage in this one....

I'm reasonably relaxed given that I'd expect us to recover at home even if we don't get a good result over there.

We strolled it against Daugava Riga at this stage last season, but I'm expecting Shkendija to be a decent step up from them.

An underwhelming performance, but an okay result considering it was our first game of the season.

Rooney

Wasn't any need to play the extra midfielder instead of the trequartista. Meant that there were few forward-passing option when the midfield had the ball and Rooney was often isolated or had to take himself out of a goal-scoring position in order to link the play.

All led to a fairly nothingy performance where we had a lot of the ball but created little and then made stupid errors that could have seen us concede more goals.

Should still get through okay, but will be looking for a bolder team selection and performance in the home game.

Ropey first ten minutes that we were lucky to survive and then it was a performance straight out of the textbook for European away games.

Goodwillie

Focused on blocking up the middle of the pitch and sending them into wide areas. With the three centre-halves there was never any prospect of us conceding from a high cross.

Couple of issues early due to the change of system and a lack of organisation/communication between the sude centre-halves and the wing-backs, but that ot sorted during the drinks break (was that hot).

Then we held them at a safe distance for the most part and clinically saw them off from set-pieces and taking advantage of there errors.

Glorious.

So we are likely to play Kairat Almaty, since both of us are 3-0 up from the first legs.

With them within a couple of hundred miles of the Chinese border, it's being suggested that this might be the longest away trip ever in UEFA competition.

~3400 miles/5500 km.

Can anyone beat that?
