Btw, I already mentioned Odio Paris a couple pages back that does a great MBV homage. Another of my favorites from South America that has done the same is Medialunas.

Interestingly they're a two-piece band that sings in English and sometimes Spanish, but yet live in Portuguese-speaking Porto Allegre, Brazil.

    Great stuff like this:

This song here is just a blatant MBV rip-off, but done lovingly :

Here's their full album Intropologia from 2012 (great, btw):

I liked MVB quite a lot.

What did you make of the "punk is/is not dead" debate? I was always on the "is not" side, but that it was just a matter of not enough people being educated what it really is.

At the drive in is fantastic for that sort of alternative, punk style. Amazing band. Sad they split up. But they did give us the Mars Volta because of it. Antemasque their new project is pretty good as well.

There is a statue in the middle of Dublin. I bet if you asked teenagers who walk past it every day who he is they wouldn't know.

PJ is excellent. I haven't listened to this one before. I'm learning bro!

I found the Jasper Wrath album yesterday, in a local record shop. Had never heard of the band before but love these two songs in particular.

It's been a prevalent notion. Fallen sparks. Fragments of vessels broken at the Creation. And someday, somehow, before the end, a gathering back to home. A messenger from the Kingdom, arriving at the last moment. But I tell you there is no such message, no such home -- only the millions of last moments . . . nothing more. Our history is an aggregate of last moments.
