The Juventus first team concocted a 4-0 victory from the combination of Lazio and Rome’s Stadio Olimpico in the Super Cup, so the Bianconeri Primavera will be hoping that the mixture gives them similar success when they face the same opponents in the same arena in the Primavera Italian Super Cup on Thursday 26 September at 8.45 CET.
Andrea Zanchetta’s side will compete in the tournament thanks to their Coppa Italia victory against Napoli in April, while Lazio have qualified as champions of Italy in the league.
It is another important fixture in a decisive September for the Juve youngsters, a crucial juncture in a run that includes league clashes with Empoli, derby rivals Torino and Genoa, and perhaps the most anticipated of all: their debut in the UEFA Youth League away against FC Copenhagen.
If Juventus are successful in Rome, they will become the most titled club in the history of the competition. With two victories from 2006 and 2007 – both against Inter – the Bianconeri are currently on level pegging with Lecce (winners of the first two editions) and current holders Roma.
