Manager Walter Mazzarri has placed a great deal of faith in Morgan De Sanctis, Marek Hamsik and Lorenzo Insigne by selecting them in each of the 26 league fixtures this season.
Napoli possess an impressive disciplinary record this campaign as no player has been shown a red card to date. With 8 to his name, Behrami leads the way in terms of cautions. He is followed by Inler and Campagnaro who have each gone into the referee’s book on six occasions.
Having found the back of the net 18 times this season, Napoli’s Cavani leads such star forwards as El Shaarawy and Di Natale in the race for Serie A capocannoniere. The Uruguayan striker also seems to save his best form for the big matches, having netted hat-tricks against both Lazio and Roma. In Naples, he is trailed in the goalscoring department by Hamsik who has nine and then Maggio and Insigne who have registered four apiece.
On top of his nine goals, Hamsik also provides killer passes as shown by his topping of the assist charts with 13 to his name. He is followed by Insigne who has delivered five so far this campaign.
In recent months, the Napoli defence has also proved difficult to break down. Since late December, Mazzarri’s side have conceded just four times in their last nine league encounters.
However, the Azzurri’s attack has managed only one goal across their three previous league outings and the club is without victory in these matches. After a slightly disappointing month, Napoli will be determined to get their title challenge back on track with a positive start to March.
