7 victories, 8 draws and 3 defeats: this is Cagliari’s home record. The Sardinians have collected 29 out of 42 points, scoring 23 goals as compared to the 14 goals scored in away games. Instead, the defensive section has showed to be tougher: they’ve conceded just 14 goals.
Their home campaign got off to a positive start: 2-1 over Novara, Thiago Ribeiro and Larrivey being on the scoresheet. Following three goalless draws, against Udinese, Siena and Napoli respectively, the Rossoblu experienced their first defeat, being overcome 0-3 by Lazio.
2011 finished without satisfactions: 1-1 against Bologna, 0-0 against Parma and 0-2 against Milan, where Pisano’s own-goal and Ibrahimovic’s goal allowed the Rossoneri to conquer the ‘Sant’Elia’.
In the new year, Cagliari achieved a series of positive results, starting from the 3-0 over Genoa. Following the goalless draw against Fiorentina, they clinched again the three points against Roma, achieving the win (4-2) after a tough recovery.
Former Rosanero Pinilla and Dessena were on the scoresheet against Palermo (2-1). Cagliari were then beaten at home for the last time by Lecce. Their last games were quite positive and placed them in a calm area of the table: 3-0 over Cesena thanks to a hat trick from Pinilla (an excellent January’s signing); 2-0 over Atalanta; 2-2 against Inter; 3-0 over Catania with goals from the trio of foreign strikers (Thiago Ribeiro, Pinilla and Ibarbo). And finally, a goalless draw occurred against Chievo.
Cagliari will come into the game against Juve following a 2-1 defeat against Genoa, already occurred on the neutral pitch in Brescia: Palacio, Ariaudo (former Bianconero) and Jankovic were on the scoresheet.
