I am not saying I would mind SMS even for 120mln but if it was up to me I would still pick Pogba.
This is why I don't like the argument "X player was better at 23 than Y". Look at him now. What happened? His $#@!ty attitude has stalled him. And there are many other variables that determine how a player's career will pan out.

He may be more talented and have a higher ceiling of potential, but SMS may be more likely to see his own fulfilled.

Long story short: talent alone isn't enough (and SMS isn't short on that either)

Yes, his $#@!ty attitude and Mourinho.

Especially Mourinho, many players didn't perform under him like Mata, De Bruyne, Salah, Cuadrado etc. Players who were or turned to be WC else where.

    Yes, Mourinho too.

Although those players are wingers and attackers so I can understand more why they would struggle with his football. With all the talent Pogba has, he should be able to adapt to playing a different role from what he excelled in at Juve. He even struggled with France at the Euros.

    I know.

Though, I still believe he would re-find his form here.

But as I said I would be very happy if we signed SMS.

He'll stay at MU. Mourinho won't last there past next season IMO, he's surely more likely to leave.

Besides, with the money they've invested in Pogba - they'd have to comply with a massive loss. It's better to give him more chances it's not like he's after some serious injury or something.

The last bit is his salary - no one will pay him that much and I can't see him agreeing to a massive paycut he'd have to agree upon. It's much more likely for us to fight with Lotito all Summer and at the end of it agreeing on paying a stupid sum for SMS - mostly due to low wages and young age which would be much easier to spread into several years. With Pogba you're paying a huge fee and salary at the same time which make this transfer so unrealistic.

I personally disagree with the notion of book value being too important as well, but even if United are epic financially - not a lot of reasons not to cash on him. If they were to complete the
6 signings they are reported to make - he might not be even starting 11. More importantly should they keep him its >45M per year, surely no team can pay as much for squad members and live.
Which signings? sorry, i haven't really been following the press too much.
If United want to revolutionize the squad, Pogba would surely be an effective way of funding part of that (at least liquidity wise). And when his book value isn't extremely high and, as you mentioned, selling him would make room on the wage bill for someone else, then sure, there may be a case for selling him.
If your point was, that United will not make a huge loss financially by selling Pogba, i agree with you. Ofc it depends on the price, but if we assume he would go for 70-90 million €, it would not trouble them financially in any way.

Is Pogbas salary over 10 million € net of taxes since you estimate ~45 million in yearly costs?

yeah, 12 mil I read NET - his salary

The signings for United(according to the times) were 2 CMs (one done already), LB, RB(done), CB(alderwei... 50-70M pounds) and a RW.

i think we are in pretty strong position in the market and it will increase with the right players..
we gained many many fans lately and manu did not and maybe they lost some of glory hunters.

imagine our team with Dybi and Pogba.. pretty sure they are the rising media stars. esp. if we won CL with both in our team now. I see us in an excellent position

Dybala reveals Man Utd star Pogba's agent held talks with Juve

    11 June at 15:50
Manchester United star midfielder Paul Pogba’s super agent Mino Raiola has been already spoken to Juventus vice chairman Pavel Nedvěd and chief operating officer Giuseppe Marotta about a possible return to Turin for the France international, according to Paulo Dybala.

Paul Pogba returned to the Red Devils and signed for them in 2016. There have been murmurs of Paul Pogba rejoining the Turin club in the summer transfer window. The Argentine international Dybala says this is happening from months and reveals conversations with Raiola with Nedved and Marotta.

“I tell you one thing: of a possible and resounding return of Paul to the base I hear him murmuring for at least a couple of months in Turin, and that Raiola has talked with Nedved and Marotta. I'll give it for sure,” Dybala said.

The problem is that Jose Mourinho and Manchester United have no plans of allowing Paul Pogba leave.
