Rossoneri boss Massimiliano Allegri has outlined the importance of a good performance from his side in tomorrow’s top of the table tussle. The defending champions are fully aware of the potential possessed by Conte’s men, even more so after the Bianconeri silenced the San Siro with a recent 2-1 Coppa Italia victory.

Speaking at Milanello, the 44-year-old said: “We’re ready to contest a great game. We need to play well from a technical point of view and do well when defending. The statistics show that they deserve their current position, they’ve yet to lose a game and it will be a difficult encounter – as it normally is when first plays second.”

Milan tasted victory against Conte’s men at the start of the campaign but Allegri appreciates that much has changed since both sides met in the Berlusconi trophy.

“It’s a completely different Juve from then,” he continued. “We were at the start of the season, they played with a different system and they’ve radically changed their way of playing.”

The Rossoneri continue to struggle with injuries and suspensions, leaving Allegri with several decisions to make before confirming his starting line-up.
“Antonini and Mesbah have the same possibility of playing,” he concluded. “Maxi Lopez is out, as is Boateng. Pato will play tomorrow and he’ll be extra motivated for this game. As it stands, Muntari will play from the first minute. The absence of Ibrahimovic? He’s a champion and it would be better to have him available, but with or without Ibra we’ll need to look to win the game because it’s an important encounter.”
