Lucas Ariel Ocampos (born July 11, 1994 in Quilmes, Buenos Aires) is an Argentine football striker who plays for River Plate. In 2011, he played his first match for River Plate at the age of 17 years, two months and five days. He is an excellent striker and has drawn comparisons to Cristiano Ronaldo due to his physique, position and style of play.

Career

River Plate

His first team debut was on August 16th, 2011 in a match played against Chacarita Juniors. Although only 17 years of age and very little time with the first team, Lucas was able to convince coach Matias Almeyda to start him on the first match of the season due to his fantastic pre-season form. His debut was good, where he showed great maturity and character during the game. However, the circumstances were not the best as River Plate had recently been relegated to the second division for the first time in their history. He scored his first goal for River Plate in his second match on August 20th, 2011.

Considering the quality of that league in general and those defenders in particular, we have to rate this strike as if it happened on the training ground. But sure, a fine strike indeed.

Passarella said in the past that 20m € was low for him so...

The rumor was for 9m so I guess that source was off.

Maybe I'm a bit of a Wenger, but I always get excited about youth players. Seventeen is a bit young, though, and I'm sure we'd loan him out anyway, so I'd give him a few more years.
