On 27th May 2004, seven years ago, Umberto Agnelli passed away. He was not just a prestigious figure in Italian history, but also a reference point for all Bianconeri fans. With Umberto Agnelli at the helm, Juventus achieved many of their finest moments. He was president when the Bianconeri gained their first star, in 1958. He also enjoyed the prestigious role as the head of Federcalcio until 1961. Umberto Agnelli was the man who brought Charles and Sivori to Juventus, noting before anyone else that, putting them alongside the class of Boniperti, would create a formidable strike force. Two more titles were won, in 1960 and 1961, before he left his role as president a year later. However he continued to stay close to the club, returning to the Bianconeri in 1994 and presiding over an extraordinary period of success, bringing Juventus to the top of Europe and the world. Even seven years after his death, his presence is still felt in the hearts of the supporters and employees of the club. His son Andrea has followed in his father’s footsteps, making the memory even more special.
