OK I think this should be his last extension and he will retire in 2019. If it's possible to be legend in 6 years, Andrea is. (bonucci is also)

By the time he retires, he'll have been with us for 8 seasons: definitely legend material.

If he stays then why do we want to keep Howedes? They havee the same role, backup CB/RB and we only need one such player

We shouldn't keep Howedes, especially if he gets something like 10 games this season.

Benatia, Chiellini, Caldara, Barza, and Rugani is more than sufficient, unless we are planning on selling Rugani for 40+ million

If Barzagli is gonna be 4th+ choice then I'm fine with him renewing a year. That far down the pecking order will serve him well with limited game time at his age. He will be fresh and ready when needed.
    2017/2018 - 29 injuries.
    2015/2016 - 64 injuries.

It's not only about years of servitude, but also impact. Iaquinta was an epic leech-$#@! for 6 seasons, but he's no legend.

I think we will extend Barzagli and wait and see if Howedes returns to form. If he doesn't he won't return.

    Barzagli definitely a legend btw.

Do you consider Ravanelli and Vialli club legends? 4 years here each. Won the club it's first scudetto in like 10 years. Won a UEFA Cup and a CL as well. Both played huge parts in that scudetto, the UEFA Cup and the CL. Ravanelli also scored like 20 goals in 32 European Games while at Juventus.

I'd say yes to both regardless of the short spells here.
It's been a prevalent notion. Fallen sparks. Fragments of vessels broken at the Creation. And someday, somehow, before the end, a gathering back to home. A messenger from the Kingdom, arriving at the last moment. But I tell you there is no such message, no such home -- only the millions of last moments . . . nothing more. Our history is an aggregate of last moments.

Not sure if Ravanelli or Vialli are legends. But Iaquinta? Absolutely.

Definitely. They guided us to a CL title, so that seals it in my book.

The term 'legend' is subjective and really vague. We all say players like Alessandro Del Piero, Scirea and Buffon are Juve legends, but the people who stayed shorter or played for several clubs aren't for everyone legends.

For me Barzagli is a legend, but I think for everyone he is at least a player who made part of our history, is loved and will not be forgotten after 8 years of Juve. Grande Barza!

I think Juve being their prime team is key and of course the level they played and for how long.

Barzagli, Chiellini, Marchisio and Lichtsteiner will all be remembered as Juventus legends.
