Club career

Sorrentino's career started with Lazio (no appearances), and later went on with Juventus where he failed to be featured on the pitch as well. In 1998 he joined Torino, and the following two years he had spells with modest clubs Juve Stabia and Varese, before rejoining Torino, this time for a total of three seasons. In 2005, following the cancellation of Torino and the consequent release of all of their players, Sorrentino found himself without a team, and opted to leave Italy, joining Greece's AEK Athens FC in a free transfer.

After the birth of his daughter, Sorrentino asked AEK president Demis Nikolaidis to let him return to Italy because his wife was not feeling comfortable enough in Greece. However, no ideal offer was made, and Sorrentino made it clear that if he had to stay in Greece, he would be 100% professional. Fans of AEK respected that, and chanted his name in every game. He had a top-notch performance versus AC Milan, in a UEFA Champions League match. AEK won 1-0, with Sorrentino announced as MotM, and his performance led to some interest from several Italian and European clubs.

On July 2007, AEK agreed to loan the keeper to La Liga's Recreativo de Huelva for 2007-08, with the oldest Spanish club having the option of buying him later. The first-choice throughout the the season, as Recre barely avoided relegation, Sorrentino was loaned out again by AEK on July 2008, and returned to Italy, joining promoted side Chievo Verona.

On June 12, 2009, Sorrentino signed a permanent deal with Chievo Verona.

No to Sorrentino

Man, Buffon injury is heart breaking, I though he had 3/4 more years or atleast he could be fit for all matches next season.
By the sound of it he'll be out every once in a while again, and we need a decent back-up.
These GK's linked with us lately aren't any better than Manninger.

Anyone here rate Muslera?
