Udinese defensive duo Christian Zapata and Felipe are the future of Turin-giants Juventus, according to Tuttosport.

The less prestigious Bianconeri had an excellent 2007/08 season in which they qualified for the UEFA Cup, and they have brought this form into the new campaign after winning their opening game 3-1 against Palermo.

The Zebrette have a number of exciting young players, and two of these are in defence in the form of Zapata and Felipe.

The duo have long been admired by Juventus and, according to Tuttosport, they could be the future of the club, arriving as early as next summer.

Colombian centre back Zapata has been a rock at the back for Udinese over the past 12 months, and at just 22 he is set for a big future in the game.

Brazilian stopper Felipe, 24, was close to joining Juventus back in 2006, and indeed a €12m deal had been arranged, but the transfer fell through when the Old Lady refused to include Raffaele Palladino as part of the deal.

Felipe has suffered from constant injury problems since, but his versatility, being able to play in the centre and at left back, attracts Juve.

They come up with this every season  Last year it was hamsik & Vargas, did they join? Tuttosport:lol: I don't see how a team that spent a total of 16million euros net spend in the market, is suddenly going to spend 20million on a central defender. Besides who needs Zapata, we have Knezevic & molinaro, they are the future of the club;)
