Juventus begin their title defence at Piacenza’s Stadio Garilli as the Serie A and B calendars for the new season were formulated this evening.
Week 4 could already be a turning point with Inter-Chievo, Juventus-Parma and Lazio-Milan all vying for the fans’ attention.
What many already believe will be the Scudetto showdown – Inter-Juventus – will take place at the San Siro in Week 6.
The Rome derby arrives seven days later, while the heated Turin showdown is in Week 10.
Milan and Inter face off in Week 11 as Rivaldo and Ronaldo meet for the first time on opposite sides of the field.
Juventus and Milan make their first head to head clash in Week 9.
The Scudetto has been decided on the final day of the season for the last four years running.
Juventus end their campaign at Chievo, while Milan will make their last stand in Piacenza.
Inter and Roma can say goodbye to the 2002-03 season on home turf.
The Serie A season will have five rest days. The Euro 2004 qualifiers will stop club football on September 8, Oct 13 and March 30.
The Winter break has been extended from Dec 29 2002 to Jan 5 2003, while the Easter holidays will bring the Week 29 fixtures forward to Saturday April 19 2003.
